Thankfully, there were less people here than if it had been a Triple Crown. The seats were good (but pricey). The biggest issue was the lack of hired personnel in the stands. For the main race, could not even see the horses because so many people came up from General Admission to the Box Seats and stood in the front, making it impossible to see what was happening. For the 6 tickets we purchased (at $120 each), this is the last year we will do so. If we go next year, it will be the cheapest tickets and we’ll all walk up to the better seats like everyone else seems to do.
A Day At Belmont
A day at Belmont Race Track for the Belmont Stakes what could be better! We enjoyed walking around the lovely grounds, Then we proceed to our seats in the Reserved Seat Section. We had a good view of the finish line but were extremely disappointed and shocked to discover that it was impossible understand anything that was being said over the loudspeakers. It just sounded like noise. You couldn't follow the races being called or understand any interview or background information about the horses, trainers and owners whose pictures were on the screen.
It is a disgrace that at a Premier Race Track in New York with state of the art sound equipment available that this condition exists here!
